Stripers were on fire last week reports Cathy Crossland from Bayside Marina. People were catching two at a time almost all on clam with some drum mixed in, she said. Jyll Santarpio has been like queen of the beach with her striper catches. AC Mike weighed in his personal best, a 30-pound striper.
There are big flounder in the back with small blue fish everywhere.
The Bayside Memorial Day weekend flounder tournament was fun, said Crossland. Chuck Durr won again with a 3.92-pound flounder and a $100 cash prize. Crossland was a close second with a 3.82-pound flounder and will donate her $50 gift certificate along with her other donations to the American Legion Fishing Tournament which is June 23 this year.

Fish Finder II's captain Joe Fumo reported that it was a great Memorial Day weekend. The great weather, great crowds, and great fishing. Lots of fun was had by all. Flounder were coming over the rails of the Fish Finder II all weekend long. The Progressive Fluke Jackpot was hit on Sunday afternoon when Bob Webb of Haddon Heights won the $650 jackpot for a $2 entry fee and a 2.12-pound flattie. Webb could not believe he won. He said that he never won anything in his life. Along with his 2.12- pound progressive jackpot winner flattie, he also had a 4.5-pound flattie.
The Mazurek family had eight keepers and to many shorts to count. Debbie Borrett had the pool winner fluke on Monday afternoon with her niece, Brianna. Great job, Deb. Even the Fish Finder rental boats were bringing back keepers. The fish must really be thick. They usually spend the day stuck behind Sun Flower Island.
