CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – In 2012, the staff at Cape Regional Medical Center contributed more than $55,000 to the Brodesser Cancer Center Capital Campaign.

“Partnership at this level is extraordinary,” stated Corinne Robinson, MSN, co-chair of the Employee Campaign Committee.

“The foundation is grateful for and proud of the enthusiasm and commitment of the Cape Regional team – they embody Cape Regional’s theme of ‘Exceptional Care, Exceptional People,’” added Betsy Exley, the other co-chairwoman of the committee.

In response to the financial support by the staff, Cape Regional Medical Center Foundation dedicated the Exceptional Care, Exceptional People Employee Donor Wall in December. The name of each person who donated in 2012 is included on the wall, which will be updated each year.

The Cape Regional Medical Center Foundation announced a $5 million Capital Campaign in 2011 for the purchase and installation of the Varian TrueBeam Radiation Therapy System at the Thomas and Claire Brodesser, Jr. Cancer Center. The new system was installed in April, 2012. The system treats certain lung cancers with far fewer treatments than other options, according to hospital officials.

To date, the Capital Campaign has raised over $2.5 million in gifts and pledges. For more information on the Varian TrueBeam System, or to make a contribution to the Cancer Center Capital Campaign, see www.caperegional.com .
