Heroin, ecstasy and more found in Villas

VILLAS – Police say they found heroin, ecstasy, steroids, a firearm and more in the St. Johns Avenue home of a 49-year-old man.
Alex Teufel of Lower Township faces drug distribution and weapons charges after an investigation by the Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force of the county prosecutor’s office and members of the Lower Township Police Department, according to an announcement from Police Chief Brian Marker and county Prosecutor Bob Taylor.
He was arrested Jan.30, after a search warrant was carried out in the 500 block of St. Johns Avenue in the Villas section of Lower Township.
According to police, the search turned up what they suspect is heroin, ecstasy (also known as MDMA), psilocybin mushroom, each Schedule 1 drugs, and anabolic steroids, a schedule III drug, as well as a firearm and paraphernalia. A passenger vehicle could be seized, police said.
Teufel has been charged with four counts of drug possession, three counts drug distribution, unlawful possession of a weapon, endangering the welfare of a child, and possession of paraphernalia, according to the county prosecutor’s office.
He was sent to county jail, with bail set at $50,000 cash.
