Lower man charged in car burglaries

LOWER TOWNSHIP – Police have charged a North Cape May man with a number of car burglaries.
Police say that Brian Walton, 24, was charged with burglary, theft and possession of stolen property after he was found in possession of several electronic devices.
Ptl. CJ Ryan stopped Walton on Feb. 1 as he was riding a bicycle on Croydon Drive in North Cape May. Police had identified Walton as a person of interest in recent burglaries, according to a press release.
He had drug paraphernalia and stolen electronic devices on him, police said. One of the devices was owned by a nearby homeowner who said it had recently been stolen from his car.
Another device in Walton’s possession was reported stolen the next day, police said.
Bail was set at $20,000 cash by Judge Thomas Hillegass. Charges also includes Possession of Stolen Property and Drug Paraphernalia. He
Lower Township Police Department urge all residents to keep their cars locked, remove valuables out of sight and try to park in well lit areas.
Anyone with additional information regarding car burglaries is urged to contact the Lower Township Police Department. The investigating officers are Patrolman CJ Ryan and Cpl. Doug Whitten.
