LOWER TOWNSHIP— A 47-foot sailboat that ran aground Friday has since been cleaned up, a Coast Guard Public Affairs officer said Monday.

The vessel, named Tiffany, hit the jetty near Cold Spring Inlet sometime Friday night. The three passengers aboard were able to make it out of the wreck safely, the officer said.

The boat also contained a 250-gallon diesel gas tank, which was reportedly causing concern Saturday when the Coast Guard said officers could not safely retrieve it.

On Monday, the wreckage and fuel was completely cleaned up and the case was considered closed.
