Don’t give vote up to candidates with most advertising

To the editor:
With regard to local elections, we have an important one in November in Lower Township.
On one hand there are the Republican candidates: a mayoral candidate, Erik Simonsen, running with a turncoat deputy mayor, Kevin Lare, the same person who ran and won on the coattails of the independent mayor, Michael Beck, and now opposes him. Why? Typical Republican philosophy, they want everything and are willing to buy it.
Should you not be aware, Beck is an independent candidate. He ran as an independent three years ago, as did Lare. The Republicans have stacked the deck against Beck but he has run the township honestly and effectively. The Republicans, like their national counterparts, are after control and patronage.
If you are a Lower Township voter, be guided by the facts and cherish your vote. Don’t give it up to the candidates with the most advertising, which you’ll witness in the coming months.
