Local artists to judge Atlantic City Boardwalk Art Show

ATLANTIC CITY – Judges for the upcoming Atlantic City Boardwalk Art Show in September will be local artists with ties to Atlantic City – Lennox Warner, A.J. Rudisill and Michael Waters.

The Atlantic City Boardwalk Art Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6 at Kennedy Plaza across from Boardwalk Hall, according to the Atlantic City Arts Commission and the Noyes Museum of Art of the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. Entertainment will be provided at Trump Plaza.

MARGATE – With more than 500 tickets already sold, the 27th annual JFS House Tour is shaping up to be the most successful tour to date.

Set for 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4, the event offers an exclusive tour inside six luxurious homes throughout Margate, Ventnor and Longport.

Longport hosts annual U.S. Navy Seal Challenge

LONGPORT – The New Jersey, Delaware and Pennsylvania Chapter of the U.D.T./SEAL Association is sponsoring the U.S. Navy Seal Challenge, 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 30 on the beach at 24th Avenue.

The organization and the U.S. Naval Special Warfare Foundation will conduct the mud run and stand up paddleboard competition. Individual events include a half-mile swim, 3-mile beach run and O course, and mud run. The team event consists of a half-mile open water swim with a four-person team on a 3-mile long carry obstacle course and mud run on the beach.

Jazz on the Beach

The Chicken Bone Beach Historical Foundation and Atlantic City Free Public Library will host its 15th annual Jazz on the Beach concert series at Kennedy Plaza, between Mississippi and Georgia avenues, on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City. July 4 celebration in Longport

Longport celebrates Independence Day July 4 with its annual Police Fire and Historical Society Open House 10 a.m. to noon. The day ends with the annual All American Mile Run at 6:30 p.m. Register at the firehouse, 21st and Atlantic Avenue. Call 609-823-2731.

Ventnor Summer Concert

Ventnor will hold a summer concert 7 p.m. Saturday, July 5 on the beach at Newport Avenue, weather permitting, featuring the Rocco Brothers playing hits from the 1970s and 1980s.

Watson, Ph.D. returns to the Milton & Betty Katz Jewish Community Center, 501 N. Jerome Ave., 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 7.

Watson will present a lecture titled, “Nazi Titanic,” an exploration into the little known event in the final hours of the Holocaust.
