HSA tricky tray fundraiser

The Ventnor Home and School Association will be having a tricky tray fundraiser 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25 at the Ventnor Educational Community Complex, 400 N. Lafayette Ave. Tickets will be sold the night of the event to put into a bucket corresponding to the gift basket or prize of choice. Basket donations are being accepted through Feb. 10. Share our surplus sale

The Ventnor Community Church will hold a Share our Surplus Sale, part two 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25 at the church, 2 S. Victoria Ave. The rummage sale will feature new and used items for sale and clothing at $2 per bag. Books, toys and other items will be sold as well as homemade soups and baked goods. Homemade chili lunch is $5 and roast pork dinner is $10. Eat in or takeout. Call (609) 822-5937.

School board meeting postponed

The regular monthly meeting of the Ventnor City Board of Education has been postponed from Feb. 22 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29 in the Early Childhood Atrium of the Ventnor Educational Community Complex, 400 N. Lafayette Ave.

 

100th birthday of Hadassah

in the community room at the Ventnor Library and Cultural Arts Center, 6500 Atlantic Ave. Mayor Theresa Kelly will proclaim the day Hadassah Day, and people will be recognized. The worldwide organization raises money for hospitals, medical research, colleges, summer camp for disadvantaged youth, technology and women's rights. There will be a reception after the ceremony. Purim through a wine glass

Congregation Beth Judah will hold “Purim Through a Wine Glass: Vashti Viognier in a Merlot Megillah” 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29 at 700 N. Swarthmore Ave. The event will include tasting and sale of Passover wine sponsored by Howard Solomon of Bootleggers Liquors.  Desserts will be baked at Beth Judah by Andie Storey, Joyce Schwartz and Nadine Winkelstein. Little Listeners

The Ventnor branch of the Atlantic County Library, 6500 Atlantic Ave., will present a Little Listeners program for ages 3 and up 10:30 a.m. Saturdays, March 3, 17 and 31 and Thursdays through March 29. The programs feature early learning activities, songs, rhymes, finger plays and reading. Registration is required; call (609) 823-4614.

 

Chef’s Night Out

Ventnor’s second Chefs Night Out will be held 4-8 p.m. Sunday, April 15 at various city restaurants. Tickets are $40 and include a sampling from each eatery. There will be music and art during the event. Restaurants include Domenico’s, Jo-Jo's Trattoria & Pizzeria, Melalani Cafe, Jade Orchid, Isabella's Ventnor Cafe, Red Room Cafe, Capri Pizza, Caruso's Pizza and Jagielky’s Home Made Candies.
