Jazz on the Beach

The Chicken Bone Beach Historical Foundation and Atlantic City Free Public Library will host its 15th annual Jazz on the Beach concert series at Kennedy Plaza, between Mississippi and Georgia avenues, on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City. July 4 celebration in Longport

Registration open for St. John’s Bible School

St. John’s by the Sea, 6300 Ventnor Ave., Ventnor is holding registrations for Daily Vacation Bible School 6-8:30 p.m. July 7 through 11. The free program is recommended for children ages 5-12. Kabbalat Shabbat on the Beach

Beth Judah hosts Shabbat on the Rocks

Congregation Beth Judah will welcome Shabbat with appetizers and drinks 6 p.m. Friday evenings, July 18 and Aug. 22 before Kabbalat Shabbat services.  Created by Hazzan Jeffrey S. Myers, and funded through anonymous sources, the Honey Neustadter Memorial Garden becomes an island refuge for all who wish to relax at the end of the week and welcome in the Shabbat.  The tiki bar has pina coladas and margaritas, regular or virgin, and tasty appetizers.  Relax and schmooze for a half hour and then participate in a Kabbalat Shabbat service led by Rabbi Aaron M. Teens write poetry at Ventnor Library

Atlantic County Library System/Ventnor, 6500 Atlantic Ave., offers Teens Write Poetry 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays, July 22, 29, and Aug. 4. The workshops are suggested for ages 12 and older, and registration is required. Participants must attend all sessions. Award-winning poet Sherri Dratfield gives tips on writing poetry. Nights In Ventnor Go Green Boat Parade

The Nights in Ventnor Go Green Boat Parade will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, along the back bay waterway. Rain date is Aug. 3. Parade includes all types of fuel-free boats, including sculls, row boats and kayaks. Parade starts at Ski Beach on Dorset Avenue and ends at the Viking Rowing Club on Surrey Avenue in Ventnor Heights. There will be a barbecue, music, prizes for individuals and groups, as well as well-decorated homes along the route. Register by July 30. Registration fee is $10 per person, $5 for children under 12 with an adult. Proceeds go to purchase pet waste bags and new holiday decorations. Great Ducky Race and Cardboard Boat Regatta

The Milton and Betty Katz JCC will hold its sixth annual Great Ducky Race and Cardboard Boat Regatta 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3 at the Washington Avenue Pier in Margate. The fun-filled family day will include duck-themed carnival games, live music, a bounce house, cardboard boat regatta and a much-anticipated rubber duck race. Ventnor beach badges for sale

Beach badges are now on sale at the Ventnor City Municipal Tax Office, 6201 Ventnor Ave. Badges can be purchased from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Badges are $7 for adults and children over 12/$3.50 for senior citizens until June 1, when badges increase to $15 each.

Margate beach badges for sale

Beach badges can be purchased 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Margate Municipal Building, 9001 Winchester Ave., and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. every day at the Bloom Pavilion, Huntingdon Avenue at the beach. Badges are required for adults and children over 12. The preseason cost is $7 per badge or $3.50 for senior citizens over 65. Beginning June 1, all badges are $15.

Longport beach badges for sale

Preseason beach tags can be purchased through June 15 at Borough Hall, 2305 Atlantic Ave., Longport. Tags are $15 for adults and children over 12 and $5 for seniors over 65. After April 10, active military will be eligible for free tags for the immediate family. An active military identification card or DD214 is required for proof of service.
