MARGATE – After more than three decades serving the city, Agnes Schwartz retired Nov. 1. At the City Commission meeting Thursday, Nov. 8, the longtime secretary to the commissioners registrar of vital statistics, and Planning Board administrator was given a warm sendoff with lots of hugs and a farewell cake.

Schwartz has served the city for 34 years; as a crossing guard for 13 years, in  City Hall for 22½ years and prior to that as a parking officer. She said she still plans to stay involved.

“I have mixed feelings. It was time,” said Schwartz. “I’m going to miss it and miss the people.”

She added, “I will be involved with the city. I’ve thought about doing volunteer work.”

The commissioners expressed their heartfelt thanks to Schwartz for her service.
