MBA announces 2013 events

Margate Business Association has released its schedule of programs and events for 2013. All dates and events are subject to change. See www.marvelousmargate.com for information.
Monday, March 25
Application deadline for the 2013 Daniel and Maria Walters Scholarship Program, which is open to high school seniors who have attended Margate City Schools.
Wednesday, April 24
MBA Wine Tasting 6-8 p.m. at Steve & Cookie’s By the Bay, 9700 Amherst Ave. Proceeds benefit the MBA Scholarship fund.
Thursday, June 27
Movie on the beach (tentative), 8:30 p.m. at Decatur Avenue beach.
Saturday, June 29
The planet’s largest beach party, Beachstock 2013, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. at Granville Avenue beach.
Thursday, June 13
Farmer’s Markets begin, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. every Thursday through Aug. 29 at Steve & Cookie’s by the Bay, 9700 Amherst Ave.
Thrilling Thursdays
Thursdays, July 4-Aug. 29 Thrilling Thursday activities include free beaches and sidewalk sales. Movies on the beach begin at 8:30 p.m. every Thursday (weather permitting) at Decatur Avenue beach, in front of Lucy the Elephant.
Sunday, Sept. 8
Le Tour de Downbeach family bike ride (tentative) 9:30 a.m. beginning at Newport Avenue and Boardwalk in Ventnor and ending with a barbecue at Tomatoe’s Restaurant in Margate. Tentative rain date is Sunday, Sept. 15
Wednesday, Sept. 11
Sept. 11 tribute at All Wars Memorial Park at Lancaster and Ventnor avenues.
Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 28-29
Margate Fall Funfest by the Bay 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Amherst Avenue between Decatur and Coolidge avenues, featuring live bands, children’s stage, amusements, food, crafts and activities.
Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 2-3
Celebrate Margate! includes city-wide events, sidewalk sales, real estate open house houses, pet parade, religious events, music, entertainment, scavenger hunt and restaurant tastings. There will also be holiday decorations a window display contest for retailers.
