Deadline extended for Hazard Mitigation Grant

Ventnor Residents may continue to complete and submit applications for Hazard Mitigation Grants until Monday, Feb. 25. Applications can be made online at www.ventnorcity.org and in the Mayor’s Office of Ventnor City Hall.
The grants, offered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, are to be used to protect structures from flooding, including elevating homes above the base flood elevation requirement and flood-proofing non-residential structures.

Residents with more than 50 percent of the improvement value of their homes in damages must contact the Ventnor City Building Department at (609) 823-7987.
If approved for the grant, the federal government will provide 75 percent of the cost and resident would be required to pay 25 percent of the total cost.
