A Margate man was arrested Saturday and charged with the sexual assault of a minor after a Friday night encounter with a 13-year-old girl.
Charles G. Kulzer, 22, of Margate was arrested Saturday, March 2 and charged with second degree sexual assault on a minor, fourth degree criminal sexual contact and third degree endangering the welfare of a child.
The arrest occurred after an incident that led investigators to believe Kulzer had committed a sexual assault on a 13-year-old year old female. Margate Police are alleging Kulzer met the female on the internet and then met up with her Friday night when he then provided alcohol to the minor and then sexually assaulted her at his residence.
Police seized further evidence after a search of Kulzer's residence in Margate. As a result of that search, Kulzer has been charged additionally with drug offenses. Bail was set at $75,000 full cash bail and Kulzer has been lodged in the Gerard L. Gormley Justice Facility and will be arraigned Monday, March 11. The case is being investigated by Margate Police Officer Jeanette Arcuri, Detective Lt. Ken Bergeron and Detective Joe Scullion.
