Stop FEMA Now, a grassroots organization will meet 2 p.m. Saturday, April 6 at the Ventnor City Community Building, 6500 Atlantic Ave.

The group’s stated goal is to create a unified voice to persuade the Federal Emergency Management Agency and elected officials to revise the base flood elevation maps.

This meeting will provide a forum for residents of Ventnor, Margate, and Longport to share their FEMA experiences, receive some available information, ask questions, and become part of a unified voice. Unanswered questions will be documented and every effort will be made to get and provide answers to those interested.

Stop FEMA Now member George Kalamos has hosted several meetings in central New Jersey and will be in attendance to share his experiences, provide information and his efforts to unify New Jersey residents who are seriously affected by the FEMA maps.

According to Tim Kreischer, Ventnor City Mayor Michael Bagnell will also be in attendance to provide an update on Ventnor’s efforts and to answer questions.
