Building project is sound

To the editor:
In January an ordinance was passed to relocate and construct a new building department next to City Hall. A petition was successful in garnering enough signatures to move the project to a question on the Nov. 6 ballot.

Please keep in mind that this move is a good one because it will save the city money, and city business will be conducted more centrally and conveniently as the new location is ideally situated next to City Hall. Parking spots can be designated in the City Hall lot for the building department, and the municipal lot will also be available for parking.

The building has already been designed and is an attractive structure that blends in well with the architecture of City Hall. We have been throwing away money for 14 years on rent. This project is sound and cost effective. Please vote yes for this ordinance.
