The Egg Harbor Township High School Silver Eagles Marching Band will be hosting its annual home marching band competition on Saturday, Oct.18 at the school.

The competition begins at 6 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $7 for seniors and students.

The Egg Harbor Township branch of the Atlantic County Library System will hold free “Snacks and a Movie” events for the family 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct.16, and Wednesdays, Nov. 12 and Dec.10. All ages are welcome to watch family films and enjoy popcorn and candy at the library, 1 Swift Ave.

The Egg Harbor Township Police Athletic League marked its 25th birthday on Saturday, Sept. 28 with a barbeque hoedown at its Ridge Avenue facility. Attendees were treated to fireworks, barbeque, music, giant bouncers, paintball, hayrides, laser tag and more.

Practice SAT test

The Egg Harbor Township branch of the Atlantic County Library at 1 Swift Ave. will offer a full-length Kaplan Practice SAT Test 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4. The test is open to ages 13-18 and registration is required. Students should bring scientific calculators.

Car wash

The Egg Harbor Township Eagles 12U Travel Baseball Team will host a fundraiser car wash from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4 at English Creek Car Wash, 1187 Ocean Heights Ave. Cost is $8. Proceeds benefit the team. Call JoAnn Cordy at 609-385-7598.

EHT PAL winter fest starts this weekend EHT PAL winter fest starts this weekend EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP - The Egg Harbor Township Police Athletic League hosts a 25th Anniversary BBQ and Hoedown to celebrate its service to the community’s youth 5-8:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28 at 2590 Ridge Ave.. Fireworks, barbeque, music, giant bouncers, paintball, hayrides, laser tag and more. Cost is $25 per adult and $15 per child. Admission includes all activities and food. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Organization is asking for all volunteers, board members or kids to share how they have been involved with PAL throughout the years through stories and photos.

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – Students of all ages, teachers and parent volunteers will work together to create an outdoor classroom and garden at Slaybaugh Primary School Saturday, Sept. 27, according to a district press release.

Plans call for the garden to have raised beds where elementary school students will grow and harvest vegetables, and a milkweed and flower border garden to attract and nurture monarch butterflies.

The Second Annual “Fly Like an Eagle” 5k and Fun Run was held on Sunday, Sept. 21 at Egg Harbor Township High School. The event, held in honor of late track coach George Wilkinson, was sponsored by the Egg Harbor Township Education Foundation.

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – Egg Harbor Township School District officials and the Community Partnership for Egg Harbor Township Schools Inc. have issued a challenge for residents to “Take the 3-Day Challenge to Support Egg Harbor Township Schools.”

 The challenge call on community members to attend three school-related functions planned between Friday, Sept. 19 and Sunday, Sept. 21:

-  Friday, Sept. 19, 7 p.m., Egg Harbor Township High School stadium: Help kick-off the Egg Harbor Township High School football season by attending the team’s first home game versus Lower Cape May Regional;
