BOE meeting schedule

The Board of Education holds meetings on Tuesdays in the board room of Alder Avenue Middle School. Work session meetings begin at 7 p.m. Regular meetings begin with an executive session at 6:30 p.m. followed by the public portion at 8 p.m. Agendas for each meeting can be found on the district website under the tab “Board of Education.” The work session meetings are: May 21, June 18, Sept. 17, Oct. 15, Nov. 12 and Dec. 17. Regular meetings are: JApril 23, May 14, May 28, June 11, June 25, July 23, Aug. 27, Sept. 10, Sept. 24, Oct. 8, Oct. 22, Nov. 5, Nov. 19 and Dec. 10.

Township Committee schedule

Egg Harbor Township Committee holds meetings at 5 p.m. Wednesdays in the municipal courtroom inside the Municipal Building, 3515 Bargaintown Road. Agendas can be viewed at www.ehtgov.org. The meetings are April 24, May 8, May 22, June 26, July 24, Aug. 28, Sept. 11, Sept. 25, Oct. 9, Oct. 23, Nov. 13, Nov. 26 and Dec. 18.

Discount ski and amusement tickets

The recreation department is selling discount winter ski lift tickets for Blue Mountain, Camelback, Jack Frost/Big Boulder and Mountain Creek. Also available are tickets to Adventure Aquarium and Sam’s Water Park. Ticket prices can be viewed at www.ehtgov.org/recreation. Purchases are made in cash or money order only at the Community Center, 5045 English Creek Ave. Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Call (609) 272-8120.

Special education group sets schedule

The Egg Harbor Township Special Education Resource Group announced its meeting schedule. They meet in the board room of Alder Avenue Middle School on Wednesday, March 6, Monday, April 8, Tuesday, May 7, and tentatively on Wednesday, June 5. Call Abby Longstreet at (609) 383-0800.

Volunteers needed at hospital

Children's Specialized Hospital is looking for volunteers to support services at its new location, 6106 Black Horse Pike. Ready-Set-Go

The township offers a readiness program for children 24 months to 5 years old Tuesday and Thursday mornings throughout the fall in the Community Center, 5045 English Creek Ave. Cost is $60. Adults may be required to participate. Older siblings cannot attend. Registration is required. Call (609) 272-8120.

Fun and fitness for kids

The township offers a dance, fitness and art program for ages 5-10 Tuesday and Thursday evenings throughout the fall in the Community Center, 5045 English Creek Ave. Price is $55. Class is a drop-off program. Registration is required. Call (609) 272-8120.

Toddler storytime

The Egg Harbor Township branch of the Atlantic County Library presents toddler storytime 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Suggested for ages 2-5 years. Registration is required. Each session includes stories, games and crafts. Call (609) 927-8664.

Bedtime stories

The Egg Harbor Township branch of the Atlantic County Library offers a toddler bedtime stories series at 6 p.m. Wednesdays. Dress in pajamas, hear stories and have cookies and milk. Suggested for children age 2-5. Registration required. Call (609) 927-8664.

Tutoring

Weeknight tutoring sessions for students in first grade through high school are available through the township Community Center. Cost is $30 per one-hour session. Students must register for a minimum of four sessions. Tutors are available for math, reading, spelling, science, English or homework assistance. Sessions are one-hour blocks and can be scheduled by calling (609) 272-8120.

Teen meet

A teens club is held 6 p.m. Thursdays at the Egg Harbor Township branch of the Atlantic County Library. Suggested for ages 13-18. Play games, plan events and chat with other teens. Call (609) 927-8664.

Adult book club

The Egg Harbor Township branch of the Atlantic County Library offers a book club for adults 6:30 p.m. Thursdays. The next meeting is Dec. 6. Call (609) 927-8664 for a list of selected books.

Ready to Ride

The Egg Harbor Township Police Athletic League is offering ongoing registrations for its Ready to Ride program. Ready to Ride is a family-oriented ATV, dirt bike and go-Kart riding site operated by the PAL. Located at 2590 Ridge Avenue (between the Black Horse Pike and Delilah Road) the 35-acre member riding area consisting of more than eight miles of maintained trails, go-kart track, beginner track and motocross track. Aviation Club

The Egg Harbor Township Police Athletic League is offering ongoing registration for its Aviation Club. Members explore the science of flight through classroom sessions, flight simulators, trips to air shows, museums, airports and other aviation-related activities. The club meets 6-8 p.m. Tuesdays in the Area 51 aviation room in the lower building at the Ridge Avenue Ready to Ride Center; due to frequent trips, call for meeting locations at (609) 645-8413. Astronomy Club

The South Jersey Astronomy Club holds free public meetings 7:30 p.m. every second Thursday at the Egg Harbor Township branch of the Atlantic County Library on Ocean Heights Avenue. For information see www.SJAC.us or call (609) 653-0711.

Nashville Songwriters at library

The Atlantic County Chapter of the Nashville Songwriters Association International holds monthly meetings 7-9 p.m. Wednesdays at the Egg Harbor Township branch of the Atlantic County Library. The next meeting is Dec. 19. All are welcome. The workshop portion of the meetings will focus on some aspect of song craft or the business of songwriting, to be followed by song feedback. AtlantiCare seminars, support groups

The AtlantiCare LifeCenter at 2500 English Creek Ave. in Egg Harbor Township hosts a number of support groups. Topics include diabetes, gastric bypass and lap band surgery, breast cancer, and radiation and chemotherapy treatments. For information call the center at (888) 569-1000.

Depression awareness group

The Matt McIntosh Foundation invites all members of the community to its weekly peer support meetings, where friendship, education, introspection and a home cooked meal are provided at 5 p.m. every Friday night at the McIntosh family residence at 156 Tryens Drive in Mays Landing. The organization will be planning several events in the coming months to promote its cause, including car washes, beach cleanups, surf contests and awareness walks. Boy Scouts meet

Boy Scout Troop 177 meets 7 p.m. every Wednesday at the Scullville Fire House, 1708 Somers Point Road in Egg Harbor Township. New members are welcome, and Webelos applications for cross-over are being accepted. Scouting involves honor, respect and values, building friendships, achieving goals, and community service. Kiwanis Club
