EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP - The holiday season is in full swing and this weekend is jam-packed with activities. Besides the Christmas-themed events scheduled nearly every day across the township, there are a few other ideas if you want a reprieve from all of the seasonal cheer. Here's what you need to know:
Martial arts demonstration
Infinity Martial Arts will host a holiday demonstration 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14 at the Shore Mall in the courtyard across from the Children’s Museum. Call (609) 484-0232.
Winter Festival
The Egg Harbor Township Police Athletic League is hosting its second Winter Festival on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays starting Friday, Dec. 14 at the Ready to Ride center, 2590 Ridge Ave. The weekly event will feature an animated light show, a living nativity, crafts for the kids, pictures and visits with Santa, s’mores making, food, refreshments and more. Proceeds benefit PAL’s holiday programs for kids. Call (609) 645-8413.
Breakfast with Santa
The Farmington Volunteer Fire Company is hosting its fourth annual Breakfast with Santa Saturday, Dec. 15 at the station, 301 Maple Ave. All-you-can-eat breakfast for $5 for adults, $3 for children 3 and older. Children younger than 3 eat for free. Go to http://www.farmingtonfire4.com/.
Pet photo day at Shore Mall
A special pet photo with Santa day is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16 at the Shore Mall’s courtyard across from the Children’s Museum. Call (609) 484-0232.
Holiday Show
WBNG Productions will hold an indoor holiday craft show 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16 at Trinity Lodge No. 79, 563 Zion Road. Call (609) 214-8293.
Irish holiday dance show
The dancers of Mist of Ireland Dance will perform at holiday show 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16 in the courtyard of the Shore Mall, just outside of the Children’s Museum. Free and open to the public. Call (609) 484-9500.
Holocaust display open
A Holocaust survivor display is on exhibit at the Greater Egg Harbour Township Museum, 6647 West Jersey Ave. The display includes a gallery of photos on loan from Stockton College for the month of December. The museum is open 1-3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and by appointment. Call (609) 813-2002.
Christmas train display
The Atlantic County 4-H Model Railroad Club is hosting its annual Christmas train display throughout the month. Located across from the Department of Motor Vehicles at the Shore Mall, the display is open and free to the public from 6-9 p.m. on Fridays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturdays and 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. through Sunday, Dec. 23.
