EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – Gyro sandwiches, roast lamb, mousaka, spinach pie, loukomades and baklava. Is your mouth watering yet?

Well, hold on for a few more days and you can fill you bellies with all of the Greek food favorites you like when the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church hosts its 29th Annual Greek Festival from Thursday, June 6 through Sunday, June 9 at the church, located at 7004 Ridge Ave.

“Our food is what we are known for,” proudly said Voula Liacopulos, festival publicity chairperson.

But the perennial family-friendly event much more than just Greek fare.

There are amusement rides for the kids by Johnson’s Fun Factory, Greek dancing and music and fireworks. A tent is also set up selling Hellenic imports.

“We have jewelry, canned items, food items, all imported from Greece,” she said, adding there are Greek t-shirts, books, DVDs and fishermen hats.

Liacopoulos said the event has become a meeting place for friends and families from across the area.

“We’ve been hearing that the festival has become a reunion of sorts, a place where friends and families come together and have some fun,” she said.

The four-day festival opens Thursday, June 6 from 5-10 p.m. and continues at the same hours on Friday, June 7. Saturday, June 8, and Sunday, June 9 beginning with religious services at 8:15 a.m. It continues noon-10 p.m.

Nightly Greek dancing performances will be held and the church will present its fireworks display on Thursday and Sunday nights around dark or 9:30 p.m.

Thursday and Sunday there is a $17 all-you-can ride special.

Admission is $1 and parking is free.
