EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – Storybook Land, the fairytale-themed amusement park on the Black Horse Pike in Egg Harbor Township, recently opened a new ride for the 2011 season and has another planned.

The new ride, called “Beanstalk Bounce,” opened last month and is based on the English folktale “Jack and the Beanstalk.”  The ride – a customized Frog Hopper by S&S Worldwide of Utah – is decorated to look like a beanstalk, complete with Jack climbing and topped with a friendly Giant peering down at the riders. The ride has been a big hit so far with both kids and adults, Storybook Land employees said. Beanstalk Bounce is the newest ride addition since “Tea Time,” which opened in the summer of 2008.

Storybook Land is working on another new ride for 2011, to be called “Tick Tock Clock Drop,” with an opening date yet to be determined. The SBF Drop N’ Twist tower ride is custom-themed to the nursery rhyme “Hickory Dickory Dock.” The gondola of the 40-foot-tall ride rotates as it climbs up the tower, offering a spectacular view of the entire park before it drops, and will be the largest ride and tallest point in Storybook Land.
