EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – Members of Egg Harbor Township High School’s Future Business Leaders of America chapter competed in the organization’s regional competitive events on Monday, Jan. 9.
Of the 40 participants, 24 placed among the top 10 in their respective competitive events and will advance to the New Jersey FBLA State Leadership Conference, which will be held in March.
Egg Harbor Township FBLA participants tested against other schools in New Jersey FBLA’s Southern Region, which consists of about 30 schools. These participants had a wide variety of business-related events to choose from, such as business communication, business law, personal finance and cyber security.
Typically held at the Mercer County Community College, participating chapters instead took part in the regional competitive events online in their own schools this year to defray transportation costs.
Future Business Leaders of America is a national premier business organization for high school students. It emphasizes on integrating business into the everyday lives of students through service, fundraising, and competitive events.
With more than 100 members, Egg Harbor Township High School is one of the largest FBLA chapters in New Jersey’s Southern Region. The local chapter has been competing in FBLA competitions for the past four years.
