EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – Two Egg Harbor Township residents were sent to the hospital for injuries sustained during an accident along English Creek Avenue near Locust Avenue in the Cardiff section of the township on Tuesday, Feb. 14.
At approximately 6:55 p.m., Michael Collins, 52, of Egg Harbor Township was driving his 2011 Mitsubishi north on English Creek Avenue when a 2011 Ford driven in the southbound lane by Nannie Johnson, 74, of Egg Harbor Township crossed over the center line and struck Collins’ car, police said.
Collins’ passenger, Patricia Collins, 48, of Egg Harbor Township, and Johnson were treated at the scene by the Egg Harbor Township Ambulance Squad and transported to Shore Medical Center. All suffered minor to moderate injuries, police said.
The roadway was closed to traffic for approximately an hour while the crash was being investigated and cleared.
Johnson has been charged with failure to maintain her lane and having an unregistered vehicle. The crash is being investigated by Officer Joseph Coady.
