Dougherty chosen a top VFW teacher

Terry Dougherty of Egg Harbor Township, a third-grade teacher at Roland Rogers Elementary School in Galloway Township, was named the Veterans of Foreign Wars’ New Jersey k-five teacher of the year at the VFW Citizenship Education Teacher Awards Luncheon Saturday, Feb. 11 in Manville, Somerset County.

Dougherty, who represented VFW Post 220 in Mays Landing, will represent New Jersey at the VFW’s national session in March in Washington, D.C.

Other top New Jersey teachers were Ed Graf, grades six-eight, Kawameeh Middle School, Union; and Laurie Kunzel, high school, Lakeland Regional High School, Wanaque.
