Pedestrian killed in car accident on Black Horse Pike

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – A 74-year-old pedestrian died after he was hit by a car in the Cardiff section of the township on Thursday, Nov. 8, police said.
According to police, at 5:15 a.m. Frank Carey of Egg Harbor Township was walking along the Black Horse Pike in the area of Tower 2001 Mobile Home Park when for an unknown reason he walked into the path of a 2006 Ford van driven by Eugene P. Cook, 70, of Waterford Works, who was driving east on the road.
Carey was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Traffic was detoured for approximately two hours while the scene was investigated and cleared. Officer Kevin Devlin is investigating.
