EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – The Egg Harbor Township Police Department announced it will be supporting this year’s Operation Help, a 120-hour live broadcast and donation drive. The event is run by 103.7 WMGM morning show team of JoJo and Scotty and will benefit the community FoodBank of New Jersey and its 260 partner agencies.

The collection point and broadcast location will be at the English Creek Shopping Center at Chickie’s and Pete’s. Donations will be accepted 24 hours a day beginning Saturday Nov. 17 through Wednesday Nov. 21. Donations of non- perishable food items, clothing, cash, furniture and even frozen turkeys will all be accepted. All usable items will make it to the right charity.

The Egg Harbor Township Police Department will also be a collection point for this event. Donations can be dropped off at the police station, and police will have the food transported to Chickie’s and Pete’s.

The department will also be conducting a pick-up service for donations made by Egg Harbor Township residents on Tuesday, Nov. 20. Residents can request this service by emailing This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or messaging the EHTPD on the Egg Harbor Township Police Department Facebook page.

Requests must include a list of what is being donated and where the donation will be located for pickup. Officers will pick it up and deliver it to the main collection point. The department is calling on Egg Harbor Township employee families to donate to this cause as well as to volunteer at the collection point.

This is the fifth year for Operation Help, but with the effects of Hurricane Sandy the need is greater this year than ever before.

The Egg Harbor Township Police Department says it is proud to be part of the program and challenges other municipalities and emergency services to match its effort.
