Illicit drugs and assault weapons seized in West Atlantic City raid

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – Two men were arrested on drug and weapon charges on Friday, Dec. 28 after township police executed a domestic violence search warrant on a Toledo Avenue home in the West Atlantic City section of the township and found numerous handguns, assault weapons and drugs.

Arrested were William Mong, 38, of Mays Landing and Justin Reitmeyer, 22, of Egg Harbor Township.  Mong was charged with unlawful possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of a weapon while committing a drug offense, possession of a large capacity magazine, possession of illicit bath salts and possession with intent to distribute illicit bath salts. Reitmeyer was charged with possession of bath salts and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set on these charges by Municipal Court Judge H. R. Switzer at $50,000 cash for Mong and $5,000 or 10 percent for Reitmeyer. Both posted bail and were released pending court.

Township police were assisted by Hamilton Township Police Department and the Atlantic County SWAT team.  The officers seized the guns and the drugs, police said.

Investigating this incident were Sgt. Gary Rzemyk, Officers Tim Canale, Jonathan Nieves and John Dowd of the Egg Harbor Township Police Department.
