Police, firemen work together to find missing child on New Year’s Eve

After a three-hour search on New Year's Eve, a 7-year-old child was located and found to be unharmed after wandering away from her Tilton Garden Apartment home in the Cardiff section of the township on Monday, Dec. 31, police said.

At approximately 10 p.m. the child’s parents called police after she walked away from their home.  

A three-hour search of the area was conducted by Egg Harbor Township and Somers Point Police Departments, Atlantic County Sheriff’s Office and Cardiff Volunteer Fire Company personnel before the child was located behind the Egg Harbor Township Police Athletic League building on Tilton Road at approximately 1:12 a.m.

Police said the child was evaluated on the scene by Egg Harbor Township Ambulance Squad and turned over to her parents.
