EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP - An Atlantic City woman has died from injuries she sustained in a two-car accident on Delilah Road in the Farmington section of the township today, Tuesday, March 12, police said.

Thelma H. Torres, 35, was announced dead at the AtlantiCare Regional Medical City Campus Trauma Center after she was injured in an accident that occurred at approximately 12:49 p.m. in the area of Delilah Terrace.

According to police a 1997 Honda Civic operated by Lanette Torres, 21, of Atlantic City, was proceeding east on Delilah Road when it experienced a mechanical problem causing it to cross into the oncoming lane of travel and being struck by a 2010 Ford F350 tandem rear pickup truck operated by Fredrick L. Cincotti, 49, of Egg Harbor Township. Cincotti was driving west on Delilah Road when the Honda Civic crossed directly into his path.

The impact caused the pickup to come to rest on top of the Honda entrapping front seat passenger, Thelma Torres, in the wreckage.
Numerous officers responded to assist with the detour of traffic around the crash scene. The Farmington Volunteer Fire Company, Cardiff Volunteer Fire Company and Atlantic City International Airport Fire Department responded and extricated Thelma Torres utilizing the Jaws of Life extrication tools.

They were assisted by Guenther’s Towing which utilized a truck that was able to lift the pickup off the Honda.

Lanette Torres, her 2 year old son and Thelma Torres were treated at the scene by the Egg Harbor Township Ambulance Squad, AtlantiCare paramedics and transported to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical City Campus Trauma Center, where Thelma Torres was pronounced dead.

The roadway was closed to traffic for approximately 3 hours while the crash was being investigated and cleared. The crash is being investigated by Sergeant Albert Maiorano and Master Police Officer II Kevin Devlin.
