Egg Harbor Township police dog injured in line of duty to be retired

Submitted/Egg Harbor Township Police K-9 will be retired after sustaining injuries in the line of duty in Nov. 2013. Submitted/Egg Harbor Township Police K-9 shooter is back at home, recovering from a gun shot wound.

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP- The Egg Harbor Township Police Department K-9 dog who was injured in the line of duty during a multi-agency manhunt in November will be retired, effective Wednesday, Jan. 22 after the Township Committee gives its approval.

Ownership of the dog, named Shooter, will be transferred to his handler Lt. Michael Bordonaro, who has been caring for the dog during its service to the department as well as during his recovery.
