The Egg Harbor Township Fire Department's Technical Rescue Team and several other Atlantic County agencies gathered at Lake Lenape in Mays Landing on Feb. 1 to hone their skills and take advantage of the cold weather for an ice rescue drill.

The Atlantic County Park Rangers requested the drill to as a training exercise for its staff. Atlantic County has parks along both sides of the Great Egg Harbor River, its tributaries and lakes throughout Atlantic County. The park rangers will be the first responders on scene for anyone who venture onto the ice and fall through.
