EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – Egg Harbor Township Police are crediting their data-driven approach to patrols around the township with the arrest of a Pleasantville man who was wanted on robbery charges in Philadelphia.

According to police, Scott Dorn, 41, of Pleasantville was stopped by Officer Brian Keane at around 11:42 a.m. during a routine traffic stop Thursday, Feb. 20 at the intersection of Tilton Road and the Black Horse Pike for alleged use of a cell phone while driving.

Dorn was found to have a suspended license and was wanted out of Philadelphia for robbery, police said. He was charged with being a fugitive from justice and lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility awaiting extradition.

The report states that Keane was assigned the patrol in this area and during that time period after the department’s crime analyst used the crime and traffic data-tracking system, called DDACTS, tracked a pattern of crime or traffic issues there.
