EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – A Hamilton Township woman was arrested for allegedly assaulting a former boyfriend during a family birthday party at the TGI Fridays restaurant in Harbor Square on Monday, March 31.

According to police, an altercation between Cammy Farmer, 35, and members of the male victim’s family started inside the restaurant around 8:12 p.m. Farmer had her table moved from one area of the restaurant to an area close to the victim’s party, police said.

A verbal dispute started between Farmer and the family, which then turned physical. The fight then was carried out into the parking lot, where the victim was allegedly assaulted by Farmer. Police said she had been in a relationship with the victim, a resident of Atlantic City.

The accused was taken into custody in the parking lot after a brief struggle with police. Numerous units from Egg Harbor Township and Northfield were able to get the situation calmed down once the accused was taken into custody.

Officers Gary Johnson, Michael O’Hagan and Ken Marchelle responded for Egg Harbor Township.

Farmer was charged with simple assault, violation of a temporary restraining order, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Superior Court Judge Kane set bail on Farmer at $5,000 or 10 percent. Farmer posted bail and was released from custody pending a court appearance.

After her release from custody, Farmer signed a complaint for simple assault against Montague for simple assault. The charge was placed on a summons with a date to appear in court.
