Egg Harbor Township police arrest 18-year-old in early morning drug raid

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – An 18-year-old Egg Harbor Township man was arrested on drug charges early on Thursday, April 10 after police executed a narcotics search warrant on a Swan Drive residence in the Cardiff section of the township.

 Randy Canela-Reyna was charged with possession of greater than one ounce of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of two and half pounds of marijuana, possession of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school (Fernwood Avenue Middle School) and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

The arrest was the result of a three-month-long drug distribution investigation, led by Detective Rich Vogt with assistance from Detectives Mark Wagner and Scott Hiltner.

Members of the department’s Criminal Investigation Unit, with the assistance of Atlantic County SWAT and members of the Egg Harbor Township Patrol Division, executed a narcotics search warrant at the home, where just under three pounds of marijuana packaged for distribution was seized, along with packaging material, and an undisclosed amount of cash. 

Municipal Court Judge H. R. Switzer set bail on Canela-Reyna at $100,000 full and he was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
