Egg Harbor Township man charged with gun and heroin-related charges after raid

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – A 27-year-old township man was arrested on drug and weapon offenses after local police and the Atlantic County SWAT team executed a narcotics search warrant on an apartment in the Penny Point Apartment Complex in the Bargaintown section of the township Thursday, May 29.

Paul R. Bell II, who also has a residence in Galloway, was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm while distributing a controlled dangerous substance, unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a defaced firearm, possession of a prohibited weapon (metal knuckles), distribution of a controlled dangerous substance (heroin), possession of a heroin, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police seized an undisclosed amount of heroin and marijuana along with a loaded defaced firearm and metal knuckles.

The two-month investigation was led by Detective Rich Vogt, assisted by Detectives Mark Wagner and Scott Hiltner.

Municipal Court Judge H. Robert Switzer set bail at $100,000 full cash.  Bell was lodged in the Gerard L. Gormley Justice Facility in Mays Landing.
