Willingboro man arrested for allegedly stealing from Storybook Land vending machines

Submitted/ Joseph Walthour, 45, of Willingboro Submitted/ Joseph Walthour, 45, of Willingboro EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – A Willingboro man was arrested and charged with burglary and other offenses after Egg Harbor Township Police found him allegedly breaking into coin-operated vending machines at Storybook Land in the Cardiff section of the township on Monday, June 2.

Joseph Walthour, 45, was charged with burglary, theft, resisting arrest, possession of burglar tools and criminal trespass. Police said he led Officers James Naylor, Joseph Coady and Michael Santoro on a short foot chase before his arrest around 6 a.m.

Bail was set by Municipal Court Judge H. Robert Switzer at $15,000 full cash. Walthour was lodged in the Gerard L. Gormley Justice Facility in Mays Landing.

The public is encouraged to report vending machine burglaries to their local police department. Additional reports will assist in the investigations and provide a better understanding on the extent of this type of crime.
