Egg Harbor Township resident to take the helm of operations

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – The chief executive officer of one of only two New Jersey medical marijuana facilities has resigned.

“Compassionate Care Foundation regretfully announces William Thomas, our residing CEO, has resigned to pursue other opportunities,” the organization announced June 13 on its Facebook page. “We would like to thank him for his service to our patients and wish him the best as he pursues future opportunities.”

Thomas Prendergast of Egg Harbor Township, the facility’s chief operating officer, will oversee Thomas’ duties.

“Mr. Prendergast has been a contributing officer of the Compassionate Care Foundation since its establishment in 2011, and is dedicated to providing the same level of customer service our patients have come to expect,” the announcement stated.

The organization said it is continuing to move forward with its efforts.

“As an organization, Compassionate Care Foundation has continued to make great strides in alternative care treatment. We have recently partnered with the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey to collect statistical data, informing us how to better treat individual symptoms, and continue to develop new strains to help care for our patients. As a whole, we remain dedicated to offering the utmost in patient care and will continue advocating for alternative treatment.”

According to The Star Ledger, Thomas resigned citing a lack of pay at the nonprofit organization.
