EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying an person wanted in connection to an attempted burglary at the Joe Canal’s Liquor store on Saturday, July 19.

According to police, during the early morning hours that day, Officer John Beattes of the Egg Harbor Township Police Department discovered a burglary attempt at the store, located at 6036 Black Horse Pike. A suspect had attempted entry to the business minutes prior to Beattes arrived after he heard an audio alarm coming from the business.

Video surveillance obtained from the store does not show the suspect’s face.  However, it is believed that someone familiar with this suspect’s clothing, walk, movements or other distinguishing characteristic may be able to identify him after viewing the video surveillance.    

The department believes the suspect is also responsible for a similar burglary that occurred at the Goodwill Store, located at 6701 Black Horse Pike in Egg Harbor Township. 

The burglaries are under investigation by Detectives Robert Harte and John Heim.  Any information can be reported to them by calling the Egg Harbor Township Criminal Investigation Bureau at 609-926-4051.
