Units arrived on location and found the fire was the result of a crash after a car went through a roadside farm market and caught fire. Medical personnel transported the victims from two vehicles to local hospitals, while firefighters extinguished the car fire and stood by while utility crews disconnected the farm market's gas and electric. The crash is under investigation by the Egg Harbor Township Police Department.

A residential fire in the Seaview Harbor section of the township called the Scullville Volunteer Fire Company in action on Saturday, Aug. 30. The company assisted the Margate Fire Department, which responded in place of the City of Longport Fire Department, and the Somers Point Volunteer Fire Department to extinguish a structure fire along Seaview Drive off of Longport Boulevard.

Margate Quint 24 and Engine 21 arrived to find a fire on the rear deck of a two-story home. Quint 24 took a hydrant 100-foot from the scene and stretched in with two preconnects and quickly knocked down the fire. Firefighters entered the home and found no extension into the home, and with assistance from Somers Point and Scullville firefighters, the exterior of the home was opened up to ensure all fire had been extinguished.
