Grossman column was divisive

To the editor:

Since Hurricane Sandy there has been an enormous effort to help, which makes Mr. Grossman's column even more divisive than usual. It was so comforting that people he knew, perhaps himself included, were able to enjoy the storm with wine, appetizers and bingo while thousands of others got to enjoy massive destruction. Seth, do you ever read the news? Even your fellow columnists put aside their differences and were supportive of the recovery efforts. Remember, Nero fiddled while Rome burned.
