EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – Egg Harbor Township resident Chad Juros was diagnosed with leukemia in 1991 at age 3. Four years later, he relapsed and spent 17 months in the cancer ward, during which time his father, Dr. Donald Juros, kept his spirits up by teaching him magic tricks.

Students both the Dr. Joyanne D. Miller School and the Alder Avenue Middle School,  joined forces to let the nation’s military know how much they are appreciated for all they do. Recently, these students collected items to send to deployed military personnel through the A.R.M.S. organization.

Baumgartel receives student leadership scholarship

The New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association announced that Christopher Baumgartel of Egg Harbor Township is among the 25 graduating seniors in New Jersey who will be awarded 2012-2013 Student Leadership Scholarships.

Each Student Leadership Scholarship carries a $2,000 award for the recipient’s demonstrated leadership in school activities for participation in co-curricular activities other than athletics.

Dull graduates from fire training

G. Dull II, 19, of Egg Harbor Township graduated "Firefighter 1" on Feb. 4 and is Pro Board Certified. The ceremony took place at the Anthony "Tony" Canale Training Center were the students put in 160 class hours and lots of hands on training.

Adrian Pulido of Egg Harbor Township High School won second place in the Annual Congressional Art Competition. Pulido’s painting titled “Edith’s Closet” will be displayed in Congressman Frank LoBiondo’s Washington, D.C. office. Judging the students’ submissions were Dale Wettstein of Steelman Photographic in Millville; Maryann Cannon of LaBottega Gallery in Millville; and local Cumberland County artist Diane Roberts.

Joy Jones- Carmack of Egg Harbor Township, a professor from Atlantic Cape Community College, won the Mrs. New Jersey crown on Saturday, May 11th at 7pm in the Walter Edge Theater on the campus of Atlantic Cape Community College.

EHTHS Eagle Enterprises honored for innovation

Egg Harbor Township’s Eagle Enterprises is one of eight entries selected for recognition through the 2013 Innovations in Special Education award program offered through the New Jersey School Boards Association. The program was selected from among 55 offered by public and private schools as examples of successful, creative efforts that enable special needs students to achieve their potential.
