Lending a helping paw

Egg Harbor Township resident Fran Mack’s English bulldog, Allie, is a regular volunteer at Oceana Nursing Home in Cape May Court House. Since Hurricane Sandy struck, however, she has also been busy raising money to help pet victims who were displaced after the storm. Mack, an Egg Harbor Township School District bus driver, and Allie had a goal of raising $500, which they met. They presented a check to and were recognized by the New Jersey SPCA during its Pet Expo in New Brunswick on Sunday, Feb. 10. Beach Buddies Animal Hospital assisted in the fund-raising efforts, Mack said.
