From out of the Dark Ages and into the dark comes Dragon’s Lair Mini Golf, a glow-in-the-dark course on the Wildwood boardwalk that has a medieval theme.

Lit entirely by black lights, the all-indoor course takes golfers through a medieval village and a castle, where they encounter dragons and knights. The design is 3-D, and the walls, floors and even the golf balls glow neon.

“Everything is glow-in-the-dark. And we brought in a specialty artist who does all the work,” said Joe DelVescio, a partner in Harris Miniature Golf Courses Inc., which created the attraction. The company, which is based in Wildwood, has also built courses in Virginia Beach, North Carolina and other locations, he said.

“The holes are very exciting, very fun to play,” DelVescio said. “And it’s challenging, which is a departure from most miniature golf courses.”

Though the dragon outside guarding the entrance can look a bit frightening, the course inside is family friendly and more mysterious than scary. The 10-hole course is air-conditioned.

Now that it is the off-season, Dragon’s Lair Mini Golf is open weekends only at 3616 Boardwalk in Wildwood. Hours are 4-10 p.m. Friday and noon-10 p.m. Saturday. For information call (609) 522-0474 or see http://dragonslairminigolf.com/.
