Sea Isle presents beautification awards

The Sea Isle City Environmental Commission recently presented its beautification awards to eight residential and commercial property owners who have maintained or made noticeable improvements to the exterior of their property. Plaques and gift certificates to Sea Grove Nursery in Ocean View were presented to the winners.

Properties can be nominated by the owners or neighbors. Judging is based upon recent improvements with consideration given to owners who have made consistent efforts to maintain their property’s overall appearance.

The recipients are Jennie and Donna Hadfield (326 44th St.), Ron and Charlotte Van Sant (349 46th St.), Matt and Dolores Ledwith (123 48th St.), Mickey McNamara (15 51st St.), Bill and Kathy Wilson (28 55th St.), the Downer family (5724 Sounds Ave.), Maddelena and Michele Galdi (8907 Landis Ave.) and La Fontana Coast Restaurant (5000 Landis Ave.).

The commission meets 7 p.m. the second Wednesday of the month March through November in the Public Safety Building, 233 JFK Blvd. For information call (609) 263-2081.

The Sea Isle Garden Club will meet 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6 in the Community Lodge on JFK Boulevard and Park Road in Sea Isle.

Master gardener Bill Quinn will discuss cleaning up the garden and preparing it for next year. He will also answer any gardening questions asked by the audience.

New members and visitors are always welcome at meetings.
