Stone Harbor presents inaugural Harvest Festival

Stone Harbor will hold its first Harvest Festival 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29. The highlight will be hayrides along the beach. The pick-up spot is in front of the Stone Harbor Firehouse at 96th Street and Second Avenue.

Throughout the day, there will be pumpkin painting, Halloween arts and crafts, a farmers market, artisans and a Halloween magic show.

Trick or treating in the downtown will be held for all children wearing Halloween costumes. At 2 p.m. there will be a pet costume contest in front of Paw Prints, 281 96th St. Prizes will be awarded. At 3 p.m. there will be a costume parade down 96th Street.

Scarecrows will be on display along 96th Street decorated by the merchants. Festival goers can vote for their favorite.

The Harbor Haunted Crawl featuring entertainment and food specials from Carney’s, Fred’s and the Stone Harbor Bar and Grill will take place throughout the weekend.
