Sea Isle throws Halloween parade and dance party

The Sea Isle City Halloween parade will take place 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19 along Landis Avenue from 46th Street to JFK Boulevard. The raain date is noon Sunday, Oct. 21.

Sponsored by the Department of Recreation, the parade will feature floats and groups of walking participants representing businesses, organizations and civic groups. There will also be professional entertainers, familiar characters and live music by The Original Hobo Band, The Pennsport String Band, the Atlantic City Fire Department Pipe Band and the Philadelphia Eagles Pep Band. 

Parade participants will be judged in numerous categories, including walkers up to age 12, walkers 13 and up, families, clubs and organizations, and floats. Trophies will be presented to the winners of each division.

To participate, submit a completed application to the Department of Recreation, 6108 Central Ave., Sea Isle City, NJ08243 by Oct. 12. Forms can be obtained online at  or 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday at City Hall, 4416 Landis Ave.

After the parade spectators and participants are welcome to attend the free annual Halloween Family Dance Party at the ExcursionPark band shell, JFK Boulevard and the promenade. D.J. Jeff DiCesare will spin Halloween favorites and other dance songs, and has new excitement planned for the event, according to organizers.
