The Sea Isle City Environmental Commission is looking for volunteers to help clean the beaches and dunes Saturday, Oct. 15.
The commission’s Fall Beach Clean-Up and Dune Grass Planting will take place 10 a.m.-noon with a rain date of Oct. 16.
People of all ages are invited to participate in this eco-friendly effort, whether individuals, families, Scout troops, businesses or civic organizations. No preregistration is required; volunteers can check in at JFK Boulevard and the promenade at 10 a.m. Rubber gloves and all other supplies will be provided.
Volunteers will be asked to document precisely what type of debris they collect. That data will be given to researchers at Clean Ocean Action in Sandy Hook, who track pollution trends and seek information on environmental issues.
Mike’s Seafood Restaurant, 4222 Park Road in Sea Isle City, will treat all volunteers to a seafood buffet after the cleanup. Volunteers will be given vouchers for the buffet by the members of the Environmental Commission prior to the luncheon.
For information call (609) 263-2081.
