GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP – A grand opening is scheduled 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 1 for a new supermarket in Smithville Town Center.

Mario Incollingo and his partner Ray Parzyck are opening Incollingo’s Marketplace at the site of the former Smitty’s Super Foodtown, which closed last July.

“Someone presented the idea to Mario and he looked at the store. He told me about it, and I drove around the area, checked out the Smithville shops and thought this would be a great location for us,” Parzyck said. “I talked to a lot of great people who live here and felt very comfortable being here.”

The grocers made the store smaller, now 24,000 square feet, by shortening the aisles and eliminating the hardware department. They will stock everything a conventional grocery store has, Parzyck said, and the store will focus on produce, deli meats, homemade salads, fresh made hoagies, and offer daily hot meals and sandwich specials.

The grand opening will offer free hot dogs and pretzels, Herr’s Foods mascot Chipper will be on hand for product giveaways, and an organist will play music.

“We’ll have super deals all day long, and the first 100 shoppers will get product giveaways. It’s going to be a fun day,” Parzyck said.

Incollingo’s Marketplace is in Smithville Town Center, off Route 9 at Smithville Boulevard. Hours are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays, and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sundays. For information, call 609-652-0294.
