Storms Storms

GALLOWAY – There will be an informational workshop on how to be prepared for tropical storms 6 p.m. Monday, July 1 at the Galloway branch of the Atlantic County Library, 306 E. Jimmie Leeds Road.

The Atlantic County Office of Emergency Management, Mental Health Association of Atlantic County, and the Atlantic County New Jersey Hope and Healing Team will discuss the impact of Hurricane Sandy, as well as reinforce the importance of being prepared for future storms.

They will also give tactics to help residents mentally prepare for severe storms and flooding.

Since Atlantic County’s most recent experience with Tropical Storm Irene and Hurricane Sandy, it’s important for residents to be prepared for weather tragedies that may occur in the future. They note that Atlantic County is the fifth most vulnerable area along the East Coast for tropical storms. Residents need to know how to protect themselves, and others in such crises.
