Some 60 people – mostly from Egg Harbor Township – turned out at a beef and beer benefit Saturday, Sept. 22 at the Egg Harbor Township Elks Lodge for Roy Heintz, former exalted ruler of Galloway Elks Lodge 2853.

Heintz, a former Pleasantville police lieutenant, developed Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever from a tick bite. Egg Harbor Township Elks Lodge 2563 donated the beef and beer so all proceeds could go toward Heintz’ medical expenses.

Sheriff Frank Balles, left, chats with Roy Heintz.
