Galloway collects for neighbors

GALLOWAY – Galloway Township Community Services and the local volunteer fire department are collecting items to assist Hurricane Sandy victims through Wednesday, Nov. 21 with afternoon drop-offs at the township’s five fire companies.

While Galloway was mostly spared by the storm, its volunteer organizations are reaching out to assist neighbors to the north and south who are still struggling to recover from the Oct. 29 super storm.

Donations are limited to winter outerwear, shoe gift cards, non-perishable food or gift cards, all sizes of diapers, baby formula and sundries such as toilet paper, tissues  and paper towels.

Drop-off hours are 2-6 p.m. daily at Oceanville Firehouse, Route 9 and Leeds Point Road; Germania Firehouse on Cologne Avenue near Duerer Street; Pomona Firehouse, White Horse Pike; Bayview Firehouse, Route 9 near Absecon border; and South Egg Harbor Firehouse on Route 50.
